What is Dental Implant Restoration?
Dental implant restoration is a procedure that creates an artificial tooth to replace a missing one. The process starts with a titanium post being surgically implanted into the jawbone. Once a dental implant post has fully healed together with the jaw bone, the dental implant restoration process can start. It takes between 2 to 6 months for the healed implant to create a sturdy foundation for which a new tooth replacement can be placed in a process known as osseointegration. After this the implant is exposed and an abutment is placed onto it which a crown, bridge or denture can be affixed to after a healing period of about two weeks.
