Occlusal Disease

Occlusal disease is when misaligned teeth that don’t fit together properly, cause problems or damage to other teeth, gums, jaw muscles or joints. It’s very important to catch occlusal disease early to mitigate and prevent damage. For mild cases, a splint or mouth guard can be used however, in more serious cases restoring worn down or damaged teeth, reshaping of the teeth, or orthodontics may be needed.
